On Friday we held a Remembrance reflection here at Zouch, so that we could focus on our school values of respect and courage as we thought about the Armed Forces who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We also considered all of the men and women who currently serve in the Military and the Veterans too.
The reflection was led by Mrs Johnson and Padre McConville. We also had other visitors like L Cpl Walton who played the bugle to the 'last post' before the two minutes silence, Mrs Webb the Tidworth Mayor, Mr Chapman our Chair of Governors and Mr Edmonds a senior leader from TWHF.
During the reflection, our children were impeccably behaved and they took immense pride in laying their class wreaths and reading the Remembrance poems they had written.
Mrs Johnson, Headteacher said "Remembrance is so important to us at Zouch as so many of our parents serve in the Military and our community has thousands of Military personnel too. We have great links with the local Regiments here in Tidworth and therefore it is lovely to think of the wonderful job the Forces do at keeping us all safe. The children were amazing, and I felt incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of such a fantastic school".
