Zouch Academy For Parents

Clubs

Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club is currently run in one of our school halls. It is open Monday to Friday during term time from 7:40am until 8:40am when the Breakfast Club staff will take the children to their classes. The Breakfast Club staff are Mrs Enright, Mrs Jaye and Mrs Reynolds. The children are provided with a healthy breakfast and drink of their choice and are encouraged to be independent with this. The older children also display their values by helping the younger children. A range of indoor activities will be provided with a reflection time before the start of school to help prepare the children for a busy and fun-filled day of learning.

After School Club

The After-School Club is currently run in one of our school halls. It is open Monday to Friday from when school finishes until 5:15pm (except on the last day of each term, when After-School Club will not be available). Mrs Spencer, Mrs Chalk-Pope, Mrs Jones and Mr Spencer are the after-school club leaders. The children are provided with a healthy snack and drink of their choice each day. Different activities are provided for them, including outdoor games in good weather delivered in different locations across our site. They can also participate in a range of wellbeing activities or games inside which provides them with an opportunity to develop their social skills and friendships with children from other classes and year groups.

For further details about booking your child’s place at one of our after-school club sessions, please contact the school office and they will be happy to help. Payment should be made via Parentpay.

Sports clubs at Zouch

Sports clubs at Zouch aim to offer our pupils a unique experience that allows the children to express themselves outside of the classroom environment. Our sports clubs are open to children of all ages and abilities and are aimed towards finding pleasure in playing a sport as well as developing athletic ability and sportsmanship. Our sports clubs offer everything from commonly played sports like football coached by specialists from Chelsea FC to unique sports such as dodgeball. All our sports clubs follow our belief in our school’s values and we embed these into every club we do.

Young Voices

At Zouch, our children have been a part of the World’s largest children’s choir concert, which we have offered to children from years 4-6 since 2015, and continue to take part in this amazing experience each year. The Young Voices choir is made up of over 150,000 primary school children with performances planned at some of the UK’s biggest and best venues throughout January and February 2022. Starting at Sheffield’s FlyDSA Arena, the choir travels across the UK also performing in Birmingham, London and Manchester.

The children participate in an afterschool club where they are taught the lyrics and dance moves to the songs they will perform on the day which prepare them for the phenomenal concert in London. As a group, the children and their teachers travel to London at the beginning of the school day, spend the afternoon rehearsing ready to perform their songs with the choir in the evening and finally travel back to school.

The children that participate in Young Voices always talk excitedly about the fantastic once in a lifetime opportunity and will remember the experience long after they leave Zouch. We are proud to give the children the opportunity to be a part of something so remarkable!
